About Us
Our Mission Statement
To develop friendships and a sense of community among our members through social, cultural, civic, and philanthropic activities.
Our History
The foundation for the Women’s Club of Great Falls has been in existence for over 40 years. The current club is a result of a 2011 merger of two local women's clubs, the Great Falls Woman's Club and Newcomers of Great Falls. The Great Falls Woman's Club was founded in 1980 and Newcomers of Great Falls was founded in 1982.
In 2009, through casual conversation, the two club presidents realized that the clubs shared many similarities. Both had a local member base, (including some crossover) with similar missions and social activities. Both clubs also had philanthropic arms and were active in the community. In addition to these similarities, each club brought unique strengths resulting in an enhanced combined club.
In 2011, the boards of Newcomers of Great Falls and the Great Falls Woman's Club agreed that one combined organization made great sense, and Great Falls Friends and Neighbors was born. Recently the club members agreed upon a name change to better fit the organization to The Women’s Club of Great Falls which is now a vibrant organization of over 300 active and involved women!
Who We Are
As outlined in our Mission Statement, the purpose of the Women’s Club of Great Falls, an IRS 501c-7 organization, is to establish and foster an atmosphere in which new and current members can develop new friendships and community contacts. We do this through social, cultural, civic, and philanthropic activities. Membership is open to all women who live in the Langley High School District and The Estates of Lowes Island. (Current members are exempt from this boundary requirement as long as they maintain their membership by paying dues by September 1st of each year.)
The social focus of the club revolves around a wide variety of activities. There is something for everyone. Our programs range from museum and other cultural outings to wine tours and luncheons with fascinating speakers. Our interest groups include informal dining, cooking groups, yoga, bridge groups, three different book clubs, and much more. If there isn't an group you are interested in, start one of your own!
The civic focus of the club is to promote the well being of women and children through participation and sponsorship of programs and activities in and around our community.
The philanthropic focus of the club highlights the talent, compassion, and dedication of its members. The Women’s Club of Great Falls members have raised funds and provided services for numerous organizations in our area including family shelters, outreach programs, camps for children in need, and women's scholarships.
The Women’s Club of Great Falls is a respected and integral part of the Great Falls community. We remain committed to welcoming vibrant women who look forward to having fun, meeting new people, and giving back to those in need.
