FAQ

Who is FORB?

Friends of Riverbend Park (FORB) is a 501c(3) non-profit citizens group dedicated to the responsible stewardship and preservation of the undisturbed natural beauty at Riverbend Park

What is a Virginia Bluebell?

Virginia bluebells are native North American plants. They differ from the European variety and are actually related to forget-me-nots.  Bluebells grow naturally here in the floodplain at Riverbend. They like the slightly damp soil, so they’ve been here many decades. They root vegetatively, so they form a large colony. Their other name is the oyster leaf because their leaves taste a little bit like oysters and you can eat them in salads.
