Bluebells and Bald Eagles

$16 Registration required to attend all proceeds will be donated to FORB
Please join us in support of our friends at Riverbend Park for a spectacular walk amongst the Bluebells. In addition, we shall experience a guided preview of our local resident Bald Eagles, Abe and Abby and if we are extremely lucky, we may even have eaglets! Space is limited to 30 (2 groups of 15) so reserve your spot now! A waiting list will be established, and should the demand dictate additional groups added.
All proceeds will be donated to Friends of Riverbend Park (FORB) Please wear sensible walking shoes you don’t mind getting muddy, participants should be able to walk a mile comfortably on uneven ground.

What is a Virginia Bluebell?
Virginia bluebells are native North American plants. They differ from the European variety and are actually related to forget-me-nots. Bluebells grow naturally here in the floodplain at Riverbend. They like the slightly damp soil, so they’ve been here many decades. They root vegetatively, so they form a large colony. Their other name is the oyster leaf because their leaves taste a little bit like oysters and you can eat them in salads.
