Wine Enthusiasts -

Wines of South Africa

We still have a couple of openings for the wine event on Saturday - if you are available, please join us!

Wine Enthusiasts welcome you to enjoy a South African Sundowner at Becky and Jim Kinsel’s house. Many people do not realize that South African winemaking dates back to the 1600s. Becky and Jim were fortunate to have traveled to South Africa this year to visit wineries in the Franschhoek Valley and in Stellenbosch. South African wines benefit from a Mediterranean climate created by the convergence of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, even though they are located 2,000 miles south of the equator. South Africa is also the home of the Pinotage, which is a cross between the Pinot Noir and Cinsaut grapes. Bordeaux blends are common to South African wine offerings.

Quality South African wines often represent exceptional values compared to other wine regions. They are well worth the extra effort to locate.

Please bring a bottle of red wine and an appetizer to share. Depending on the weather, we may be outside or inside (or both!). Please be prepared to present your wine with the pride of finding a hidden gem.

Suggested price point is above $30.

We have a waitlist of people who would like to attend. We know plans change so please let us know if you can't make it so we can include the people on the waitlist.

If you need to CANCEL, go to the event page, click on "Already Registered" below the REGISTER button, and then click Cancel registration.

Or click My Event Registrations link on your profile page.  From there you can click the event and then hit the cancel button."
